DI for Stay-at-Home Spouses

At Per Vitam, we understand that stay-at-home spouses are a financial asset to every household, so we looked for an insurance provider who respected that, too!

It has been a long-standing hard line that you had to have a regularly occurring income to qualify for disability insurance, meaning stay-at-home parents couldn't find easy access to such a product.

We found a product that respects all that a stay-at-home parent provides daily, provided that the working spouse has disability insurance already or is willing to purchase it.

A stay-at-home spouse performs many roles to keep the household running. What would happen if the stay-at-home spouse became sick, hurt, or disabled? Could the wage-earning spouse afford to pay someone else to help with childcare, transportation, cooking, cleaning, or other household responsibilities? With DI coverage, benefits paid could help ease the financial burden should the unplanned happen.
